Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can) Victory Players in Concert
Under Music Director Tianhui Ng, Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can) will include premieres of compositions by composers J. Andrés Ballesteros, Cody Criswell-Badillo, Marina López, Felipe Pérez Santiago, Jorge Sosa, and Leaha Maria Villarreal. Performed by the MIFA Victory Players ensemble Giovanni Pérez (Flute), Eric Schultz (Clarinet), Clare Monfredo (Cello), Nathan Ben-Yehuda (Piano), Robert Rocheteau (Percussion), and introducing violinist-in-residence Samuel Vargas.

MIFA Victory Players Invited For Residency At The University Of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School Of Music And The College Of Fine And Applied Arts
the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has invited the MIFA Victory Players to take part in their Symposium on Puerto Rican Musical Creativity. As part of the residency, the MIFA Victory Players will perform “El Puerto Rico, The Rich Port” concert which includes special guest drum and dance group Bomba de Aquí of Holyoke, Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at 4 PM at Smith Recital Hall. During the residency, the Victory Players will be giving masterclasses, Music Director Tianhui Ng will conduct the Illinois Modern Ensemble (IME) concert with a special bassoon and bongo piece by our Ensemble Manager, Angela M. Santiago, and Bomba de Aquí will present a Bomba workshop. Carlos Carrillo, a MIFA commissioned composer who is an Associate Professor of Composition-Theory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign facilitated the collaboration and will be a moderator for the Futuros Creativos and Luncheon and other events throughout the Symposium.
