About the Event
Chicago born and bred, Guadalís Del Carmen is an Ars Nova Resident Artist in NYC. Her plays include My Father’s Keeper (part of Steppenwolf Theatre’s The Mix), Bees and Honey, Daughters of the Rebellion (formerly titled Tolstoy’s Daughters, World Premier Montclair State University 2019), A Shero’s Journey or What Anacaona and Yemayá Taught Me (Yale Magazine 2019, Parsnip Ship Podcast plays Season 4), Blowout (World Premier Aguijón Theater 2013), Sucking on Cucumbers, Blue Wall of Silence, Racial Science.
Her work has been developed at UrbanTheater Company, ALTA’s El Semillero, Aguijón Theater, The Brooklyn Generator, and Montclair State University’s New Works Initiative among others. Her plays were part of The Sol Project’s Solfest in New York City, the Latinx Theatre Commons Carnaval of New Latinx Work in Chicago, and San Diego Repertory Theater’s Latinx New Play Festival.
Guadalís is a Seattle Public Theatre’s 2017 Emerald Prize nominee and has been part of the One Minute Play Festival in Chicago and New York City. She’s an artistic associate of Black Lives Black Words and is a Co-Creator of the NYC Latinx Playwright Circle.
